Artist Statement
Beautiful.
Ontario
For my installation at Insomnia this year (2009) I want to showcase the beauty of my province. From the lakes and forest surrounding the Georgian Bay, down to Niagara Falls, even in your own back yard, you don’t have to travel far from home to find beauty that will lift your spirits. Apart from the recent economic down turn people seem be experiencing a lot of strife (or maybe it’s just me?) at the moment, and with this collection I want to remind people of the raw beauty of Ontario that is all around us. My objective is to lift spirits and evoke a feeling of serenity and peace by showcasing not just pretty pictures of pretty places, but capturing a moments of calm to sooth the troubled soul.
